Privacy policy: technician requests

Last updated 23 October 2026.

This policy covers only requests made through the "find a piano technician" form on this site. It does not describe member accounts or any other part of the website.

What we collect

When you ask for a technician we collect your name, your email address, the town where the piano is, the kind of piano, when you would like service, and anything you write in the note.

For spam control only, we also keep a keyed hash of your internet address and your browser type.

What we do with it

Your request is stored on this chapter website and sent to the chapter, which offers it to technicians who serve your town. If no technician serves your town yet, your request goes on the waiting list and we contact you when one does.

The number of people waiting in each town is shown on this page as a rough band only, never as a name or an exact figure.

Your choices

To have your request removed, email the chapter and name the town and email address you used. Requests on the waiting list are kept for at most 12 months; if no technician has been found for your town by then, we delete the request and you are welcome to ask again.
